Cherrywood Real Estate
Commonly referred to as French Place after the smaller community located within it, the East Austin neighborhood of Cherrywood consists primarily of homes that were built in the 1940s and 1950s. As such, most of the homes in the Cherrywood neighborhood are less than 1,500 square feet in size and feature either two or three bedrooms. Those who are interested in living in the Cherrywood neighborhood can select primarily from ranch style and bungalow style homes or from a number of remodeled properties.
Thanks to the location of the neighborhood and the types of homes that are located within it, Cherrywood is home to a diverse population of students, young families and retirees. The Cherrywood Neighborhood Association, which actively works toward creating a sense of community within the neighborhood, creates a regular newsletter and puts together regular events for residents to enjoy, such as the Cherrywood Art Fair.
Children who live in Cherrywood are part of the Austin Independent School District. Elementary-aged children attend Maplewood Elementary School, while middle school students attend Kealing Middle School and high school students attend McCallum High School.
The Cherrywood neighborhood is located between Manor Road to the South, Wilshire Boulevard to the North, Interstate 35 to the West and Airport Boulevard to the East.
