Of course, you can’t live in Allandale without trying the wonderful burgers at Phil’s Ice House. Next door is Amy’s Ice Cream, legendary in Austin for the past two decades. Once you’re done shopping and dining, you will want some recreation. Allandale offers pottery classes at the Clayways studio and gallery. Two green spaces — The Shoal Creek Greenbelt and Beverly S. Scheffield Northwest District Park — offer plenty of space for outdoor activity. The District Park offers plenty of green area, as well as barbecue areas, picnic locations, a baseball diamond, pool, and a playground. The greenbelt offers plenty of hiking and biking opportunities.
